The Children's Culture Festival in Akranes will be celebrated on May 23.-31. 2024
And to mark the occasion the Museum will show the documentary Children's outdoor games for 100 years in the main building.
The documentary, which is in Icelandic, is an interview film from 2018.
Interviewers of all ages recall the outdoor games they played in their childhood.
The film was made by Heiðar Mar Björnsson in collaboration with the Museum, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Iceland's independence.
The project was funded by Uppbyggingarsjóður Vesturlands Development Fund.
The film conveys invaluable source of past times to the future generations and is intended to shed light on children's outdoor games and how they have changed over the years.
This is a perfect opportunity to introduce old outdoor games to new children.
Entry fee for the movie is free from 24.-26. of May
